ABOUT: This is a rarely visited lower lookout to the sisters just off to the left of the tourist platforms in Echo Park and which offers some alternate compositions. Panoramas can be framed as in the image link, or just below a fan of eucalyptus trees can be captured with the sisters using a wide lens. A much lower horizon also enhances the composition.
PHOTO EQUIPMENT TO BRING: Ultra wide or panorama lenses are great here, but a moderate telephoto will give you endless options of the sisters themselves or looking back to tiny people on the lower echo platform. Tripod only necessary in dynamic light.
GETTING TO THE SPOT/S: Follow the paved trail to the left of echo park which goes down to the sisters and Golden Stairway and after about 2 mins you will see a trail that doubles back to the right. Follow this for 2 minutes.
